The entire storyline in this book took place in the Rain Wild section of the world and plot-wise, the first book has a very simple premise. Dragon Keeper is the first book in the Rain Wild Chronicles quartet, which also marks the beginning of the fourth out of five subseries within Hobb’s The Realm of the Elderlings series.

moreģ.5/5 stars A good foundational start to a quartet but it’s also the weakest start within any of Hobb's series so far. (P.S: do not read this series unless you have read the previous trilogies in the 'realm of the elderling' series.). Sometimes, if you forget something, it's because it's better forgotten. Better editing was much needed in this book, as this book was slower than her other books. But that grew too long and was divided into two. What I heard the first and second books in the series were written as one book. But still, as she has set some new characters in this series, the background of their life I missed. Loved Hobb's flawed character setting as she always put her characters through terrible hardships. In this tale, human-dragon-keepers were set out on a quest to find safety for the malformed newly hatched dragons.
